Nutrition talk on diet S.1, S.2, S.3 session due on Thursday 5/6/2025

A nutritionist will be emphasizing to students the importance of healthy eating habits by encouraging them to consume a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and plenty of clean water. They will equally explain how proper nutrition supports brain development, boosts energy levels, strengthens the immune system, and improves concentration in class. Students should be advised to avoid skipping meals especially breakfast and limit intake of sugary snacks, sodas, and highly processed foods, which can lead to fatigue, poor academic performance, and long-term health risks. By making smart food choices early in life, students set a strong foundation for lifelong wellness.

Agriculture practices @ Kyambogo College School

Kyambogo College School incorporates agriculture into its curriculum as an optional subject at both O’ Level and A’ Level.

This integration aims to provide students with practical skills and knowledge in agricultural practices. Open Air campaigns (Prefects) due on Tuesday 10/6/2025

During this exercise, the contesting candidates will be giving their manifesto among which may include;

  • Introduction of Candidates by the election committee or teachers.

  • Speech Presentations, where each candidate explains their vision, goals, and what they plan to do if elected.

  • Question-and-Answer Sessions, allowing students to ask candidates questions about their plans and leadership abilities.

  • Cheering and Campaign Teams, where each candidate may have supporters to help mobilize and cheer them on (respectfully and within school rules).

  • Display of Campaign Materials like posters and banners.

  • Reminders on Conduct, encouraging peaceful, respectful, and fair competition.

  • Closing Remarks by teachers or electoral officials, including details about the voting day.

Awards Ceremony for both staff and best candidates of 2024 UCE and UACE exams due on Friday 13/6/2025

Kyambogo College School had the privilege of hosting a distinguished team from the Education Review Commission to gather insights on the state of education in Uganda. The team, led by the Head teacher, Mr. Mugume Stanley, and accompanied by a renowned education consultant from Finland, embarked on a comprehensive visit that included engaging with both the school staff and students.

The team’s visit to the classrooms provided an opportunity for students to express their views on the education system and share their perspectives on what can be done to improve it. The students eagerly participated, highlighting their experiences and suggesting practical solutions to enhance the quality of education.

The team received a warm welcome from Mr. Mugume Stanley, who emphasized the importance of creating a conducive learning environment that nurtures the holistic development of students. The presence of the education consultant from Finland added a global perspective to the discussions, allowing for an exchange of ideas on best practices in education.

The students enthusiastically shared their opinions on various aspects of education, including teaching methods, curriculum relevance, extracurricular activities, and access to educational resources. They emphasized the need for more practical learning opportunities, enhanced teacher-student engagement, and modernized infrastructure.

The team’s engagement with the students was highly valuable, as their perspectives offered a unique insight into the real experiences and challenges faced by learners in Uganda. The team noted these valuable suggestions and vowed to consider them when formulating recommendations for improving the education system.

Swearing in and handover ceremony of new prefects due on Monday 16/6/2025

This will involve the following;

1. Opening Remarks

  • Delivered by the Deputy Headteacher or teacher in charge of student leadership, highlighting the importance of the event and the value of student leadership.

2. Procession of Incoming and Outgoing Prefects

  • Both groups of prefects may march in formally and take designated positions to signify the transition.

3. Outgoing Prefects’ Speeches

  • Selected outgoing leaders (such as the Head Prefect) share their experiences, challenges, achievements, and words of advice for the new leaders.

4. Handover of Leadership Instruments

  • Symbolic items such as badges, files, keys, sashes, or the school flag are handed over from outgoing to incoming prefects.

5. Oath of Office / Swearing-In

  • Each incoming prefect takes an oath (led by a teacher or administrator), pledging to uphold their duties with honesty, diligence, and integrity.

6. Speeches by Incoming Leaders

  • The new Head Prefect or other leaders express their gratitude and commit to serving the school community faithfully.

7. Remarks by the Headteacher

Counselling Day due on Friday 20/6/2025

Quite a number of activities will be done among which will include;

1. Opening Session

  • Welcome remarks by the Headteacher or school counselor.

  • Introduction of the day’s theme (e.g., mental health, career choices, peer pressure, relationships).

2. Group Counseling Sessions

  • Students are divided into groups by class or topic (e.g., S.4 candidates on exam stress, S.1 students on adjustment).

  • Discussions on common student issues such as stress management, discipline, relationships, self-esteem, and goal setting.

3. Guest Speakers / Professional Counselors

  • Invited experts (psychologists, career counselors, motivational speakers, or clergy) share guidance on specific life issues.
